VETERANS WANTED!
I am looking for veterans from the consumer
community who would be interested in being guest speakers to
tell their stories in support of the mental health needs of
returning troops. I am looking for representatives from all
service branches, any conflicts, male and female. Please contact

United Mental Health Consumers Association of Southeastern Virginia This organization was founded to enhance, educate, develop, promote and create human rights, support systems, positive public perception, quality care, rehabilitation and links between various community resources and individuals with mental illness, borderline developmental disabilities, and substance abuse problems. Our organization is comprised of individuals from Suffolk, Norfolk, Hampton-Newport News, Williamsburg, Portsmouth and Chesapeake. We meet and socialize regularly and discuss ways to empower ourselves. Here are some of the events the UMHCASV facilitates:

EA - Emotions Anonymous (Charlottesville)
Depression Bi-Polar Support Alliance meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. at Tucker Psychiatric Clinic at Chippenham Hospital, Richmond. Families meet at 7 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday.

www.emotionsanonymous.org Friends4Recovery Meeting Meets the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month, from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Starting June 20th the meeting time will change to 6:30 to 8pm but will still be held on the same days. Meetings are held in the FACES building next to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 11601 Lucks Lane, Midlothian, VA. The Cumberland Mountain Community Services Consumer Empowerment and Recovery Council is supporting a new support group, "The Road to Life Recovery Support Group", meets the first and third Mondays at 6 p.m. at Clinch Mountain Recovery House in Lebanon. This group is open to the public and all are welcome. The group focuses on how people deal and cope in their lives and present an open forum to provide ideas in recovery.
